Wanna know a secret? I've been working with Red Giant Software on a new color correction product. It's going to be wicked awesome, something every reader of this blog will want.
Stay tuned!
Fusion 5.1 has shipped. Speaking as a longtime fan of After Effects, I gotta say, Fusion 5.1 is really cool. Download the learning edition and try it out.
Edit: Eyeon has also launched VFXpedia, a wiki for Fusion and "compositors in general." Fusion has long lacked a persistent online resource exchange, so here's hoping this thing takes off.
The Guide just got featured on boingboing.net! Way cool.
Lloyd Alvarez has released a script that allows you to render in the background while continuing to work in After Effects 7. If you have a multi-core or -proc machine, you can render multiple frames at once for a substantial speed boost, all without any noticeable impact on your interactive work in the foreground.
Since The Guide recommends conforming your film in After Effects, which inevitably leads to some serious render time, this script is a DV Rebel lifesaver. It's also a glimpse into the largely untapped power of After Effects scripting. Nice work Lloyd!
