Slugline on iPhone and iPad

Today is a big day.

Ever since we released Slugline, the most frequent request we’ve had was to get Slugline on iOS.

It took a long time, because we wanted to do it right. We realized that we needed to re-write scrolling, so it would be fast and smooth. We knew we had to speed up pagination. We wanted to support fancy new iOS 11 things like split-screen and drag-and-drop.

We did all those things. And now Slugline for iOS is available in the App Store for $19.99.

One thing I’ve found interesting as we’ve been working on this: in the early days of Slugline, folks would often request an “iPad app.” We never really thought about Slugline for iPhone, just iPad. But, of course, that changed, with bigger and more capable phones, but also with the emerging collective sense that a phone really is a productivity power tool. I bet writers will use Slugline on iPhone more than on iPad.

Slugline Back to School Sale: 40% Off For Two Days

Slugline 1.1.0

Slugline 1.1.0 is now available on the Mac App Store.

Yes, it's been a while since our last update. We've been busy working on some very cool long-term projects, including some exciting new features for Slugline, but this update fixes a couple of nasty bugs that we just recently cracked.

Slugline at BACPUG

Take Highland

Highland, the screenplay conversion app from John August and company, is out of beta and available on the Mac App Store for $9.99 until the end of the month, $19.99 after that.

Highland converts screenplays back and forth among Final Draft’s FDX format, Fountain, and PDF. Not just to PDF, but also from—if you have a PDF screenplay, Highland can “melt” it into an editable file.

That, lemme tell ya, is super handy.

Highland also allows you to edit the raw text of Fountain files, and preview the results in industry-standard screenplay formatting.

Highland joins an ever growing list of Fountain apps that now includes Scrivener too. It’s a party!
